In Geneva, the Friulian community remembers the 1976 earthquake

As part of the activities organised to commemorate the earthquake that struck Friuli in 1976, the Zampa Foundation is pleased to support a series of meetings dedicated to Friulian culture and identity, curated by the Fogolâr Furlan of Geneva and hosted at the Maison des Associations.

The four events, taking place throughout 2026, will welcome numerous guests. Among them is Walter Tomada, historian and journalist from Udine, who in his latest book La faglia dentro. Cosa resta del 6 maggio 1976 (Biblioteca dell’Immagine, 2026) reflects on what the earthquake left behind, including reconstruction, political tensions, and solidarity among the affected communities.
